UT Permian Basin Women's Soccer ended their season opening road trip in Colorado with an early Sunday tilt with Fort Lewis College. The Falcon offense recorded six shots in the effort after registering only three Friday night in their season opener.
The Falcons had a couple of unfortunate bounces early in the first half and went into halftime down 3-0. In the second half, the Falcons played much better creating more scoring chances and taking aim at the net. Unfortunately, they couldn't cash in on those chances and fell to the Skyhawks 5-0.
The Falcons recorded six shots with two of them from
Yarely Orona as she had one of those shots on goal. Other Falcons who had shots were
Alexandra Sanchez,
Vanessa Ruvalcaba,
Madi Grace Carriello, and
Chloe Miller.
Blair Woodward got the start between the pipes for the Falcons saving two shots in the first half before being relieved by
Jenna McEnaney who also saved two shots.
Next up for UTPB will be the University of the Southwest in Hobbs, NM. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 PM on September 11. Download the UTPB Athletics App to follow Falcon Women's Soccer all season long.
