Box Score 2 Abrie Castillo was brilliant Saturday as she struck out 10 and allowed just one hit against University of the Southwest. UT Permian Basin Softball won a nail biter 2-1 before the offense broke out for 18 runs in game two of the doubleheader.
It took until the sixth inning for the Falcons to score as
Mia Quintero and
Aracely Araiza came around to score to take the lead and grab the win.
In game two things were much different for the Falcons offensively.
April Arellano scored
Rylie Reed on a ground ball to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead in the first. The Falcons scored two more in the second inning as
Abby Hernandez brought in
Ashlynn Bradley by drawing a bases loaded hit by pitch and
Marissa Salinas scored on an infield ground ball by Arellano.
In the third the Falcons exploded for 11 runs. Salinas and Araiza homered in the rally while Bradley and Arellano each added doubles as they poured it on. The Falcons added four more in the fourth to take it home 18-1.
