Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Rees Finds Scoring Touch in Laredo

Olivia Rees put UT Permian Basin Women's Soccer on the board just five minutes into the second half. Rees was in the box along with three other Texas A&M International players. The ball bounced a couple of times in the box and Rees was the one that got the boot on it and put it at the back of the net for the Falcons.

Rees evened the score 1-1 for the Falcons as the Dustdevils scored in the second minute of the match. A couple minutes later Lexie Gilley had a chance to put the Falcons ahead in the match but a save by the Dustdevil keeper stopped that from happening. The Dustdevils added a pair of goals after the opportunity by Gilley to go up 3-1. The Falcons had a couple more chances in the last ten minutes of the match, but the Dustdevils came away with the 3-1 final.

Rees and Gilley led the Falcons offensively with two shots each as both were on goal. Rylyn Reyes and Alexandra Sanchez each had a shot on target as well. Jenna McEnaney saved five Dustdevil shots throughout the contest.

The Falcons had nine total shots for the match with six of them being on goal. They also forced five corner kicks compared to the Dustdevils four.

The Falcons host Senior Day this Saturday against Oklahoma Christian in their final home contest of the season. Download the UTPB Athletics App for coverage of UTPB Women's Soccer all season long.
