April Arellano continued her torrid start, recording another two-hit ballgame Sunday at West Texas A&M. The junior is now hitting .397 on the season and already closing in on a new career-high in hits. It wasn't enough as the Falcons fell to the Lady Buffs 9-4 and 9-1.
In the first game, the Falcons fell behind early and trailed 4-0 after three innings. They got on the board in the fifth after
Nayeli Diaz scored on an error, but that was all the offense could push across as they were held to just five hits.
Things started much more quickly in game two as the Falcons scored in the first.
Ashlynn Bradley singled through the left side to bring in
Valerie Gonzalez. They scored again in the fourth when La'TIna Norris scored on an error. The Lady Buffs scored five in the bottom of the fourth to lead 7-2. In the sixth,
Leslie Martinez blasted first career home run to bring in Norris but it was as close as the team would get.
The Falcons are back in action Wednesday when they travel to Hobbs, NM to take on the University of the Southwest.
