Jack Delfeld and Nikita Naumov each had victories and Garrett Martin returned to where he left off on the board as UT Permian Basin Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving kicked off its 2019-20 seasons against Division I Texas Christian Friday afternoon in Fort Worth, Texas.

RESULTS

"I'm proud of the start to the season for our team and today gave us a solid base for the rest of the season," said Head Coach Cameron Kainer. "We had some great wins from Garrett Martin, Jack Delfeld and Nikita Naumov. Proud of how our first year swimmers came in and competed at their first college events. The whole team showed a competitive spirit while we've been overloaded in the pool and weight room. I'm excited for the rest of our season.

Delfeld took first place in the men's 100 Breaststroke, beating the field with a time of 1:00.59.

Naumov tied for first place in the men's 100 Butterfly with a tying time of 53.77.

Naumov also had a second place finish of 23.79 in the 50 Butterfly.

Diver Garrett Martin qualified for the 2020 NCAA Diving Qualifier in Cleveland, Ohio, with a score of 292.30 in the men's 1 meter dive.

The Falcons also had strong performances on the women's side. Alexa Barnes placed second in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 1:02.35 and was third in the 50 Butterfly in 27.41.
