Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 #9 Angelo State softball claimed a pair of victories Saturday, defeating UT Permian Basin 14-0 and 6-1 at Mayer Field in San Angelo, Texas.

UTPB scored its lone run of the day when Jessica Gonzalez stole a pair of bases on a play after an infield ground out to the pitcher.

Aubree Avila went 2-3 at the plate in game two while Gonzalez and Alexis Watson each reached base twice with a hit and a walk by each.

Courtney Barnhill and Taegan Kirk each homered in the bottom of the first as part of a three-run first inning for the Rambelles.

ASU did most of its damage in the first inning of the opener, batting around and scoring 11 runs in the bottom of the first.

Brandy Marlett tossed a five-inning no hitter for Angelo State, recording 12 of 15 outs on strikeouts in the circle.

UTPB returns home next weekend for the final time in 2018, hosting Texas Woman's in a three-game series beginning next Friday at 4 p.m.
