Brandon Lee scored his team leading seventh and eighth goals of the season and Michael Nweke and
Darupad Sharma each added a goal as UT Permian Basin recorded its second shutout of the season in a 4-0 blanking of Eastern New Mexico on a wet and rainy Thursday night in Odessa.
Lee put the Falcons ahead early in the contest, taking a high chipped pass from
Stefan Faria around the ENMU keeper for a wide open shot into the goal for his seventh of the season at 13:29.
Michael Nweke found his first of the season in the second half on another Faria assist, knocking in a free kick at 61:35.
Lee scored his second of the night under four minutes later, knocking in a header on a long ball into the front of the box from
Esai Cortez at 65:22.
Darupad Sharma scored his first of the season on a second assist from Cortez with just three seconds left to cap the scoring.
The Greyhounds led the game in shots, taking 16 to 14 for the Falcons, but UTPB led the shot-on-goal tally eight to five. The five saves for UTPB goalkeeper Alex Sproule gave him his first clean sheet of the season.
UTPB is back home Saturday afternoon, hosting West Texas A&M at 1 p.m. in Heartland Conference action.
