UT Permian Basin softball scored four runs in the top of the 6th inning to take a 4-2 lead over Texas Woman's, but the Pioneers scored a pair in the sixth to tie before scoring the game-winning run in the seventh in a 5-4 loss Friday afternoon in Denton.
UTPB scored its first of the day when
Adrianna Berzoza reached on an error with the bases loaded to score
Alyssa Lopez, and
Alexis Watson later cleared the bases with a three-run double for the 4-2 advantage.
A home run with the bases empty and bases loaded single in the bottom half of the inning led the TWU tying the game at 4-4 in the sixth, and a base hit back up the middle won the game in the seventh for Texas Woman's.
Game two was suspended by lightning and will resume Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m.
