Sydney Beuthein combined to hit three home runs over two games for Lubbock Christian as the Lady Chaps handed UT Permian Basin softball a pair of 3-1 and 10-2 losses at the UTPB Softball Field Monday night in Odessa, Texas.
Beuthein went yard twice in the opener, hitting a pair of solo home runs in each of the first and seventh innings, the latter to give LCU a 3-1 lead.
The Falcons were able to bring the tying run to the plate as
Daisy Aguilar singled back up the middle and
Chelsae Faries was hit by a pitch to start the UTPB half of the seventh, but the Falcons were only able to score one run when
Alexis Watson grounded out to second with Aguilar scoring on the play.
Sloan Springfield had her best outing of the season in the circle for UTPB, allowing three runs off of 10 hits. She walked none and struck out four.
Katera Eltsosie earned the win for Lubbock Christian, pitching into the seventh, while Katlyn Holmes entered after two batters to earn her fifth save of the season.
Lubbock Christian broke out the offense early in fame two, scoring at least three runs in each of the first three innings including a three-run homer for Beuthein in the second inning.
Lizzie Souza drove in UTPB's runs in the second inning with a single into center field that drove in Watson and Sam Rodriguez.
UTPB is back at home later this week, hosting Angelo State in a single game Thursday with a pair of games Friday afternoon.
