Texas A&M - Commerce 18 total hits Saturday afternoon in picking up a 10-3 win over UT Permian Basin softball at the UTPB Softball Field.
Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second, the Falcons tied the game when
Adrianna Berzoza hit a two-out double into into right field to drive in
Cindy Juarez from second base to even the game at 1-1.
Down 5-1 in the bottom of the fifth, UTPB was able to cut the Commerce lead in half by getting an RBI bunt from
Sloan Springfield that alluded the defense to let Berzoza score from second, and a
Melissa Zuniga single into left center with the bases loaded to drive in Sam Rodriguez from third.
Zuniga led the Falcons with a 2-4 day at the plate, while Mariah Jameyson went 4-4 with five RBI and three runs to lead the Lions.
UTPB is back in action at home on Monday, hosting Schriener for a pair of games at 1 p.m.
