Playing from behind for most of Monday's 90 minutes, UT Permian Basin men's soccer conceeded late in the second half in falling 4-3 against Adams State in a neutral site contest in Portales, N.M.
Trailing 1-0 early in the first half,
Brandon Lee evened the game at 1-1 with an equalizer on a shot off the keeper for his first goal of the season.
UTPB needed to respond when the Grizzlies scored twice in the first 13 minutes of the second half, and did just that when
BJ Rodrick headed in a goal off a cross by
Cesar Cid in the 63rd minute, and
Ollie Grundy connected five minutes later off a free kick from 35 yards out to tie the game at 67:14.
Adams State took the lead for the third and final time four minutes later on a header off a free kick.
Adams State ended the day with nine shots to six by UTPB and put eight shots on net to four for the Falcons.
UTPB is back in action this Wednesday night, making its home debut against Wayland Baptist at 7 p.m.
