Lubbock Christian put up a pair of six-run first innings Saturday on its way to a pair of 13-4 and 12-0 wins over UT-Permian Basin Softball Saturday afternoon at PlainsCapital Park in Lubbock.
UTPB scored most of its offense late in the game after scoring its first of the day when
Cyera Quintana groudned out to second for the second out of top of the second with the bases loaded to drive in
Daisy Aguilar.
The Falcons plated their remaining three runs in the top of the fifth, scoring
Mallory Hall and
Irene Valdez on a two-run double by
Adrianna Berzoza. She scored two batters later on a single by Aguilar.
Hall and Berzoza each had a pair of hits at the top of the lineup for the Falcons in the opener.
UTPB was held to just four hits through five innings in game two as Lubbock Christian scored in each of their four trips to the plate, in cluding off of six extra-base hits.
The Falcons are back in action Tuesday afternoon, traveling to Hobbs, N.M., for a midweek non-conference doubleheader at University of the Southwest.
