UT Permian Basin women's soccer scored early and held on for over 86 minutes to grab a 1-0 win over Eastern New Mexico at the UTPB Turf Field.

Before the game, the Falcons recognized seniors Erica Ancich, Haley Hicks and Des Guererro as they play in their final week at home.

Hicks made the day count, scoring her second goal of the season (both against Eastern New Mexico) on a ball shot from the top of the box into the upper right corner just 3:57 into the game for the 1-0 lead.

UTPB out-shot the Greyhounds 18-12 on the afternoon, including 10-5 in the second half, and had seven shots on goal to five for ENMU. Meagan Smith made give saves in net for the Falcons for her first shutout of the season.

UTPB closes out its 2016 home schedule later this week, hosting Angelo State Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
