Box Score UTPB softball closed out a three-game set with St. Edward's Friday afternoon as the visiting Hilltoppers took a 6-2 victory at the UTPB Softball Field in Odessa.

The Falcons took the first lead of the day in the bottom of the first when Chelsae Faries doubled into left center, scoring Miley McKee to give UTPB a 1-0 lead through the first.

St. Edward's responded with a big top of the second that featured three run-scoring hits, including a home run by Morgan Dufour, to go ahead 4-1.

The Hilltoppers added two more runs in the top of the fifth to extend their lead to 6-1.

Faries came through against for UTPB in the bottom of the sixth, hitting her second home run of the season to straightaway center field for what was the last run of the game.

UTPB is back at home to start next week, hosting Sul Ross Monday afternoon at 2 p.m.
