UTPB softball ended a three game series Saturday afternoon at Newman, falling 10-7 to the host Jets at the NU Softball Field in Wichita, Kan.
The Falcons got off to a hot start, scoring three in the top of the first inning. 
Irene Valdez was safe at home on a double steal after 
Mallory Hall stole second. Later in the inning 
Chelsae Faries singled back up the middle to drive in 
Miley McKee. 
Niki DiSera added a third run on a base hit back up the middle to score 
Ashlynn Williams.
Newman tied the game in the bottom of the third, scoring two on a triple and getting a third on a sac fly.
Hall gave UTPB back the advantage, driving in Valdez in the top of the fourth on a double down the line to left field. McKee came up big later in the inning, scoring Hall on a two-run home run to left field for a 6-3 lead.
Newman came back big in the bottom of the fourth, scoring four in the inning to go back in the lead 7-4. The Jets added three more runs in the fifth inning to lead 10-6.
DiSera got the Falcons back a run in their last trip to the plate with a home run to left in the seventh inning, but it was the last run of the game in the three-run loss.
Hall and DiSera each went 3-4 at the plate on the afternoon, and McKee scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.
The Falcons return home next week, hosting St. Edward's for three games next Thursday and Friday afternoons.
