Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 UTPB softball kicked off its 2015 Heartland Conference schedule on the road Wednesday afternoon, dropping a pair of 11-3 and 16-2 games to Lubbock Christian at PlainsCapital Park in Lubbock, Texas.

Adrianna Berzoza had a pair of hits and drove in two runs for the Falcons in the opener, hitting a two-run home run, her first of the year, to score JJ Von Oesen with two outs in the top of the fifth. Von Oesen had a pair of runs for UTPB, hitting her fifth home run of the season earlier in the top of the third inning.

The Falcons went ahead first in game two when Von Oesen singled into right center to drive home Mallory Hall from second for a 1-0 lead.

UTPB scored its other run in the fourth when Hall singled into center to score Irene Valdez from second after she reached on a base hit and stole second to get into scoring postion.

Von Oesen led UTPB with a pair of hits in game two.

The Falcons and Lady Chaps come to Odessa this weekend, meeting for a third conference game followed by a non-conference contest. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
