Box Score 2 UTPB softball dropped its two Sautday games at the Desert Stinger in Las Vegas, Nevada, falling 15-7 against Black Hills State and 15-3 later in the night to Eastern New Mexico.
Big innings did in the Falcons in both games. UTPB held a 3-0 lead in the opener, scoring twice on RBI groundouts by 
JJ Von Oesen and 
Aurora Burks in the first inning and adding a run on a sacrifice fly by 
Ashlynn Williams in the second. But Black Hills State came back with a combined 11 runs in the second and third innings to go ahead 11-3 through three innings.
Von Oesen led the Falcons in game one with a pair of runs driven in, while 
Dee Gaona and 
Irene Valdez each scored twice and Valdez led UTPB with three hits.
Eastern New Mexico broke a 1-1 tie with back-to-back seven run frames in the fourth and fifth innings. Williams drove in a pair of runs on a bases-loaded single in the fourth inning. Burks led the Falcons with a 2-2 night at the plate.
UTPB closes out the weekend Sunday afternoon, taking on Western Oregon and host Montana State - Billings.
