Lopez Sends Falcons Out with 2-1 Senior Day Win over LCU

Senior Jasmin Lopez scored early in the second half to help the UTPB women's soccer team to a season-ending 2-1 victory over Lubbock Christian Saturday afternoon at the UTPB Soccer Field.

Lopez took a pass from Ashley Redwine at the top right of the box and looped a perfect ball to the top right corner of the net over the LCU keeper to put the Falcons on top 2-1 at 51:58 in the second half.

Goalkeeper Ebony Campbell stepped up big for the Falcons, stopping 14 of 15 shots as the Lady Chaps held a 26-3 shot advantage on the day.

Both teams scored thanks to penalty kicks in the first half due to handballs. Erica Ancich converted her PK at 18:30 for her third goal of the season, and Brooke Wendl scored her 10th of the year for Lubbock Christian at 41:38.
