Desiree Valero earned her second win of the weekend as UTPB softball got out to a quick start to win a three-game series with a pair of victories and a Friday 4-1 win at Rogers State in Claremore, Okla.
Valero, coming off of a shutout of the Hilltoppers Thursday, limited RSU to just one run off of four hits and a walk while striking out six to earn her seventh win of the season.
Miley McKee got the UTPB offense going in the bottom of the first with a two out single to right with two runners on base to score
Taleas Marble for a 1-0 lead.
Aurora Burks doubled the Falcons run tally with her third homer of the season to lead off the second, and UTPB added a third run on an infield error with the bases to score
Sidney Freeze.
Rogers State got one back with a two-out single up the middle in the bottom of the fifth, but the Falcons got it back in the top of the seventh when
Nikki Brailsford scored on a wild pitch.
Jennie Quam and Freeze each led the Falcons with a pair of hits on the day.
UTPB returns home for its final home games of the season next weekend, hosting a three-game set against Newman.
