UTPB Softball dropped a pair of Tuesday afternoon non-conference contests, falling 9-1 and 3-0 against Tarleton State at the UTPB Softball Field in Odessa.

The TexAnns grabbed a 5-0 advantage in the opener behind a pair of runs in the third and three more in the top of the fifth.

The Falcons scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the fifth, getting on the scoreboard when Dee Ganoa singled to center field with two outs to drive home Miley McKee.

Tarleton State tacked on four more in the top of the seventh for the 9-1 final score in game one.

Game two belonged to the starting pitchers as the game remained scoreless through five innings.

Amber Clifford broke through for TSU in the top of the sixth, homering off of UTPB starter Holly Herrington for a three-run jack to go ahead 3-0.

Niki DiSera got the Falcons only hit of the game in the bottom of the seventh, reaching base on a double into left field.

UTPB is back in conference action this weekend, traveing north for three conference games and a fourth non-conference match up against Oklahoma Panhandle State Friday and Saturday afternoons.
