UTPB Softball closed out its first three games in Heartland Conference play Saturday afternoon with a 6-2 loss against Oklahoma Christian in Odessa.
The Falcons found themselves trailing early on after the Eagles took advantage of a pair of errots in the top of the second to score twice and added a third unearned run on a bases loaded infield error to go ahead 3-0 after three.
UTPB came back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth when
Taylor Clancy and
Jennie Quam singled in consecutive at bats with two outs and both scored on a
Niki DiSera double into right to close the gap to a lone run.
OCU pulled back ahead by three in the top of the seventh on a three-run homer by Courtney Star to increase its lead out to four.
The Falcons are back at home in three days, hosting West Texas A&M Tuesday afternoon before traveling to Austin, Texas, for three games at St. Edward's next weekend.
