In the Abilene Christian game, the teams were scoreless through the first seven innings until the Falcons put up a lone run in the top of the eighth.

Abilene Christian would counter in the bottom of the eighth when Sarah Martinez doubled in Brianna Fowlkes, who was placed on second to start the inning.
After holding the Falcons scoreless in the top of the ninth, the Wildcats took advantage of a wild pitch which moved Keanna Winkfield, who was put on second, to third and would later score on a groundout to second base for the game winner.
