Victor Domingues enters his third year as assistant coach for UT Permian Basin Men’s Soccer.
The Falcons reached the Lone Star Conference playoffs for the first time in 2021 after winning two of their final three games, including on a wild final day of the regular season. Salvador Vargas Ramos earned himself Lone Star Conference Player of the Week honors in a must win game against Lubbock Christian for their spot in the Lone Star Conference Playoffs. In this performance Vargas Ramos also earned himself a hat trick with is the fifth time in program history.
Domingues helped lead the Falcons to their first winning season since joining the LSC in the spring of 2021. The Falcons tied for the second best scoring average in the league and had the second most saves in the league. In the final game of the regular season the Falcons scored four goals in the second half and overtime for a thrilling comeback win over Lubbock Christian. The Falcons finished fourth in the LSC and just missed the postseason due to a goal differential tiebreaker. Ollie Grundy was named to the All-Conference Third Team and All-Academic Team. Gustavo Barroso and Rodrigo Rogatto also earned All-Conference Third Team honors while Matias Pereira was named to the All-Freshman Team.
Domingues worked with a young roster in 2019 that flashed potential. The team improved their win total by three games and kept the Falcons competitive against some of the top competition in Division II. The Falcons finished the season with points in four of their final five home events.
Prior to coming to UTPB, the Sao Paulo, Brasil native was an assistant coach at Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio. His first season with the team saw the Yellow Jackets post their best conference record in program history, had an All-Conference Second Team member and had a majority of the team play in the NPSL and UPSL amateur leagues.
Victor has also been the assistant coach for all age groups for the club Lubbock Republic. There his focus was filling in when needed at every level and individual workouts. He was the Head Coach for the 00s who won back to back league titles. He also interned with the Frenship High School boys’ soccer team who won their district while breaking numerous school records. This was also while working with the Lubbock Christian University women’s soccer team.
Victor played at Lubbock Christian where he was a wing and central midfielder for four years. Prior to playing at LCU, Victor played youth for professional sides Associacao Atletica Preta (BR) and U-23 Club de Futbol Amercia (MX).
