Matthews was unstoppable on her way to winning the Dr. Steve Aicinena Invitation MVP and guiding the Falcons to a 4-0 start, their first such start in program history.  Matthews is currently leading the Lone Star Conference with a .569 hitting percentage, which is also second in the nation.  She finished the weekend with 32 kills and a team-high 13 blocks.  The Falcons are hitting .332 as a team through the opening weekend, currently eighth in Division II, and first in the Lone Star Conference.
